Johan Schoonbee was born in the little country town of Bloemhof, South Africa. Being the son of a farmer that was a dedicated outdoors man, he had no choice but to follow the rhythm of the African bush with all its wildlife. Johan was introduced at an early age to animals like elephant, lion, buffalo and many other species when his father was employed as an engineer in Kruger National Park. During the four years that Johan spend in Kruger Park he has build up his knowledge of the African animals that is still his passion today. Terese Schoonbee (Brown) is a native of Powell TN. She met Johan in 2001 during his annual marketing excursion to the USA. Terese and Johan got married in 2002. Since then Terese became an integral part of Johan's safari company. Together they changed the name to T&J African Safari Adventures. Both reside in Knoxville, Tennessee during the months October to April to market their safari business and meet with individuals and groups, interested in an African safari. On April 1st they travel to South Africa to host their safari season which start on April 15 and ends on October 15th
